Individuals who witness the kid being abusedwill regularly complete two things: make a call to support the youngster or turnthere heads the other way since they would prefer not to get included. How might one characterize kid misuse? Kid misuse, likewise alluded to as childmaltreatment, is the consequence of physical or passionate injury to a childinflicted from a parent or a grown-up overseer (Child Abuse1). The cycle proceeds until it is broken by that childor by somebody who is eager to support the kid. The principal type of childprotection originated from a gathering called Society for the Prevention of Crueltyto Animals. Mary Ellen, an eight-year-old young lady, stood up in the SupremeCourt of New York in 1874 and revealed to her account of how she had never receivedlove from her mom. The main thing she got from her mom was dailybeatings and whippings. The social laborer that was taking a shot at Mary Ellenscase turned for help to the organizer of Society for the Prevention ofCruelty to Animals on the grounds that the court was not going to recognize childabuse as violating the law. The people group extremist that the social workercalled upon chose to utilize each asset he needed to help persuade thecourt. They won. The mother went to jail and Mary Ellen was received. Building Business Excellence in Hungary (Essay Sample) Content: Building Business Excellence in HungaryStudents NameInstructors NameCourse Title DateBuilding Business Excellence in HungaryHungary is one of the European countries which surprised the world by recording economic growth during the recession period that affected most countries on the planet. This success was mainly realized through the four following companies: Burton-Apta, Herend Porcelain Manufactory, Pick Meat Company and Westel Mobile Telecommunications Company. The companies were able to achieve outstanding results by completely changing their strategies from authoritative to participatory decision making. The companies emphasized on environmental protections in addition to their set targets. The companies employed quality management techniques to aid in their growth and realization of their targets. The management technique used involved introducing international standards, thus improving the companies quality standards, confidence, performance and competence (Rus s et al., 2008). Pick Meat Co. applied quality standards, equipment and techniques to realize its success. Westel has prioritized on customer satisfaction and continuous self-assessment (Draghici, 2007). New York University is a highly selective private university with an acceptance rate of just 28%. If you are considering applying to NYU, the SAT score, ACT score, and GPA information presented here can help you judge your admission chances. Why New York University? Location: New York, New York Campus Features: Located in Manhattans Greenwich Village, NYUs campus occupies some of the most expensive real estate in the country. Housing is guaranteed for four years.Student/Faculty Ratio: 9:1Athletics: The NYU Violets compete in the NCAA Division III University Athletic Association.Highlights: NYU is one of the largest private universities in the country. The school offers over 230 fields of study and ranks among the top New York colleges. NYU has additional campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. Acceptance Rate For students entering in the 2017-18 academic year, New York University had an acceptance rate of 28%. This means that for every 100 applicants, 28 were admitted and 72 received rejection letters. NYUs admissions are highly selective and successful applicants tend to have academic measures that are well above average. Admissions Statistics (2017-18) Number of Applicants 64,007 Percent Admitted 28% Percent Admitted Who Enrolled 34% SAT Scores and Requirements New York University requires standardized test results from all applicants, and the most popular option is the SAT. For students who entered NYU in the 2017-18 academic year, 59% submitted SAT scores. NYU SAT Range (Admitted Students) Section 25th Percentile 75th Percentile ERW 650 730 Math 640 760 ERW=Evidence-Based Reading and Writing The great majority of admitted NYU students have SAT scores that are in the top 20% of all test-takers. For the evidence-based reading part of the exam, 50% of admitted students scored between 650 and 730 with 25% scoring at or below 650. Students in the top quartile scored at or above 730. On the math section, the middle 50% of students scored between 640 and 760 with the lower 25% scoring at or below 640, and the top 25% scoring at or above 760. Your chances will be best at the upper end of these score ranges, and students who have a combined SAT score of 1490 or higher will be particularly competitive at New York University. If you compare SAT scores for top New York colleges, youll see that only a few highly selective collegesââ¬âColumbia, Cornell, Hamilton, and Vassarââ¬âare more selective than NYU. Requirements NYU does not require the SAT writing section. The university will super score the SAT, so applicants who have taken the exam more than once can use the College Boards Score Choice option to submit only their highest scores. Note that NYU does not require SAT Subject Tests, but applicants can choose to submit three subject test scores in place of scores from the regular SAT. Be sure to check out all of NYUs standardized testing options to figure out what approach will work best for you. ACT Scores and Requirements Among NYUs many standardized testing options, the ACT is quite popular. For students who entered the university in the 2017-18 academic year, 47% submitted ACT scores. NYU ACT Range (Admitted Students) Section 25th Percentile 75th Percentile English 29 33 Math Not Reported Not Reported Composite Not Reported Not Reported New York University does not provide a breakdown of ACT scores for the math, English, and science sections of the exam, but the composite score data shows us that most of NYUs admitted students are in the top 9% of test-takers. The middle 50% of admitted students scored between 29 and 33, while the bottom 25% scored at or below a 29, and the top quartile scored at or above a 33. Requirements NYU does not require the ACT writing exam. If you took the ACT more than once, NYU will take your highest scores from each section of the exam and create a new super-scored composite score for you. GPA NYUs Common Data Set from 2017-18 reveals that the average GPA of all first-time, first-year students was a 3.66. 41% of all entering students had a GPA of 3.75 or higher, while 28% were in the 3.5 to 3.74 range. Only 3% of applicants were admitted with a GPA below 3.0, so high grades are clearly an extremely important part of a successful NYU application. In fact, 100% of admitted students ranked in the top 25% of their graduating class, and the great majority of admitted applicants are A students. Admissions Chances New York University is highly selective with a low acceptance rate and standardized test scores that are well above average. To be admitted, youre most likely going to need the full package: A grades, high SAT/ACT scores, and impressive accomplishments outside of the classroom. You will notice from the graph above that a few students were accepted with test scores and grades below the norm. NYU has holistic admissions, so the admissions officers are evaluating students based on more than numerical data. Students who show some kind of remarkable talent or have a compelling story to tell will often get a close look even if grades and test scores arent up to the ideal. Also, because NYU is a diverse, international university, many applicants are coming from countries that have different grading systems than U.S. schools. The university is a member of the Common Application, a widely used application that provides plenty of opportunities for you to share information other than numerical grade and test score data. Letters of recommendation,à the Common Application essay, and your extracurricular activities will all play a role in the admissions process. Students applying to the Steinhardt School or Tisch School of the Arts will have additional artistic requirements for admission. The university does not typically conduct interviews as part of the admissions process, although admissions staff may invite some candidates to interview if they feel a conversation would aid them in making an admissions decision. Finally, like all selective colleges, New York University will be looking at the rigor of your high school curriculum, not just your grades. Success in challenging AP, IB, Honors, and Dual Enrollment classes can all improve your chances of being admitted, for these courses represent some of the best predictors of college success. How Technology Has Affected Us - Argumentative Essay
Madison Messina Mr. sherry English 101 How technology has affected us Even though todayââ¬â¢s technology makes our lives easier, technology also has its downfalls. Humans are much lazier than they have ever been, and there are more lost jobs because computers are taking over and doing work for us. For example, the other day my friend just lost her job doing customer service because the computer operators are now doing the customer service. People have become more dependent on cell phones to keep in touch with everybody, and television, for some people, is a disgusting way to be entertained (especially with the reality shows we sometimes tend to live off of). Business Communications Report free essay sample
The purpose of this report is to evaluate the importance of oral communications within the workplace, as well as to identify the aspects and skills that are valued within the workplace. This report will also give recommendations to the problems it highlights. 1. 2. 3 Questions * Is oral communication really a problem among graduates in the workplace? * Which aspects of oral communication are valued more within the workplace? * Which oral communication skills are lacking in graduates within the workplace? * What solutions could we recommend to the NUS management? 1. 3 Scope The ability to express ideas convincingly should therefore be an aspect to be focused on. 3. 4 Need for Clarity of Content The findings have made obvious that clear content is of high priority within the workplace. This oral communication skill is needed because the content is the crux of the message being sent to others and it needs to be clear and concise to avoid confusion. We will write a custom essay sample on Business Communications Report or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page As such this oral communication skill should be focused on. 3. 5 Need for Confidence in Oral Communications The importance of this skill has been noted in the findings. This communication skill complements the other conclusions, as confidence is something that is required for all aspects of oral communications. Clearly, confidence is a skill that should be focused on. 4. Recommendations Based on the conclusions made above, this report recommends changing the NUS curriculum to involve more opportunities to practice oral communications skills, as well as to introduce a public forum, providing chances for all students to speak publicly more. 4. 1 Change in NUS Curriculum This proposal involves a tweaking of all modules in NUS to accommodate even more usage of oral communications skills than at current levels. For example, module marks could be adjusted to allow for more emphasis on presentations or interaction with the lecturer and the class. This would not only allow students to practice their oral communications as a whole, but also improve on specific aspects and skills, like their confidence and clarity. It is noted that this proposal would be difficult to implement and would also take time to adjust to for the entire university. However, this strategy would help all NUS students to improve their oral communications skills greatly over their time in NUS as they are encouraged to work on their oral communications. Thus this would be a long term solution for the problems stated above. 4. 2 Creating Student Forums The Management should also consider utilizing a key aspect of education in NUS: student life. Through providing a forum for students to speak up, especially about issues that the students have passion for, they will get more practice at oral communications. They would also debate and discuss among themselves about such issues, further boosting their proficiency in key skills like being convincing in oral communications. This suggestion does have certain drawbacks, like difficulty in implementing instantly as students are not used to it. However, over time, and with proper promotion and support from student leaders, it could be a good avenue for students to air their views and practice their oral communications skills at the same time.
